  1. A reaction between two chemical substances
  2. (usually salts in solution) that results in
  3. the exchange of a constituent from each
  4. compound to create two different compounds.
  5. For example, if silver nitrate solution is
  6. added to a solution of sodium chloride, there
  7. is an exchange of ions yielding sodium
  8. nitrate and silver chloride.
  9.
